DAZZLING 185 BY HANIF

Pakistanis At Oxfdrd

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) OXFORD. May 10. The world cricket record holder Hanif Mohammed scored a dazzling 185 for the Pakistani tourists against Oxford University at Oxford yesterday. Hanif and his opening partner, Ijaz Butt (88). made an opening stand of 194 in 140 minutes against a weak Oxford attack.

Pakistan declared at stumps with five wickets down for 412. Hanif. who holds the world batting record for a first-class match (499 runs), battled against a knee injury, but it did not dim his display. His innings was chanceless and surpassed his previous highest score in England by 43. A rapid 52 not out by Imtiaz Ahmed hastened the Pakistanis' declaration.
