READY FOR SATELLITE TELEVISION.—The sound control room in the new extension to Broadcasting House, London. When live television is first transmitted across the Atlantic shortly, by way of the experimental transatlantic satellite telecommunications system, this control room will distribute the pictures throughout Britain and to the Continent through the Eurovision network. The elaborate installation, has cost about £2,500.000. The complicated switching processes, are, as far as possible, automatic.
