Acquittal On Rape Charge

(N Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, May 9. Colin Heketarawa Nepia, aged 17, a timber worker, was acquitted on a charge of rape by a jury in the Supreme Court, at Hamilton today.

The complainant was a Maori girl of 18. For Nepia. Mr K. R. Horsley submitted that the evidence showed that the complainant had been a consenting party. Nepia was discharged by Mr Justice Spratt.
