CANCELLED SAILINGS

1000 Already Rooked (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 9. More than 1000 passengers who have already booked or arranged for their passages to Sydney from New Zealand will have to look for other means of getting across the Tasman after the withdrawal of the Wanganella in July. Cancelled passages by the Wanganella are from Wellington on August 3, August 31, September 28, October 26, November 23, and December 20.

Before she is withdrawn the Wanganella will make five sailings from New Zealand to Sydney. She will leave Wellington on May 11, June 8, and June 22 and Auckland on May 25 and July 21.

The news of her sale came as a complete surprise to him, the present master of the Wanganella, Captain W. H. Uttley, said today. It was conveyed to him on Saturday by the chief manager of Mcllwrath McEacharn (Mr J. Paterson) who came to Wellington on this trip from Sydney. “I then told the news to the crew,” he said, “and they said that they wefe very pleased to hear it from me than through the radio or press.”
