“I hope to see the day when a Minister of the Crown, on receiving a remit from the National Council of Women, will take immediate action,” the president of the Christchurch branch (Mrs W. Grant) told its April meeting on Thursday Giving a brief report of the council's recent Dominion executive meeting in Wellington. Mrs Grant said she believed that too often in the past the council had ••proffered opinions” on various subjects of national importance without being sufficiently informed “There are many things on which we do not hesitate to give our opinion and do not fully understand the position first., I hope the day will come when our opinions will really be taken seriously by the Government in power,” she said.
