N.Z. TRIAL GAME IN CITY
The New Zealand selectors hope to arrange a representative fixture between Canterbury and Otago in Christchurch on Wednesday. May 2. At last evening’s meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association. Mr W. W. Carruthers reported this request from the convener of the New Zealand selection panel. Mr G. Smith, of Christchurch. Early' trials are needed for the selection of the New Zealand teams to meet the visiting Brazilians in Christchurch on June 2 and in Wellington on June 4. The Canterbury Association agreed to hold the match, and the selector said that a Canterbury team could be fielded.
Selection Of N.Z. Team
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 17. The New Zealand Soccer team to play the Brazilian club. Olaria A C. on June 2. at Wellington, will- be announced on the evening of May 20 This was decided at tonight's meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association. There will be three trial games to aid the selectors in their choice of team.
They are:—Auckland v. Rest of Auckland, at Auckland. May 7; Wellington v. South Island, at Wellington. May 9 (under floodlights): Auckland v. Rest of New Zealand, at Auckland. May 16.
