DUTY ON OIL SOUGHT
Deputation To Wellington (M-Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 17. Private coal interests want the Government to impose some type of duty on imported industrial oil fuel as a move to bolster New Zealand’s threatened coal industry They are also calling for a clear statement of Government policy on the cost of oil fuel once the planned refinery at Whangarei is in operation Representatives of David Lloyd, Ltd., sole distributing agents for Glen Aften Collieries, the biggest prj. vate colliery in New Zealand, will fly to Wellington tomorrow morning for talks with the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) and the Minister of Mines (Mr Shand).
