Artificial Snow Equipment A.M.F.-Sterling. Ltd.. in which British Tobacco Company (Australia). Ltd., has a half-interest. has been granted Australian rights to make and distribute artificial snowmaking equipment, according to Mr Staller, engineering director n* American Machine and Foundry Company (International). The equipment produced high-quality snow suitable for ski-ing, he said. A demonstration of snow-making is planned for an Australian centre in May. More than 1000 installations had already been made in the United States A.M.F.-Sterling has also bought all the capital of Convaire Pty.. Ltd. Sydney bakery oven maker. A wholly owned subsidiary of A.M.F.-Sterling Sterling Industries. Pty., Ltd., has acted as selling agent in Australia for the Convaire range of bakery ovens, and final proofers for several years.

R. Symonds Prospects

Sales and profits of Ralph Symonds, Ltd., factory and machinery designer and builder, for the December half-year, were lower than for the previous comparable period, interim report states. Trading conditions are improving, with indications that the trend will continue, it adds. Interim dividend is again 5 per cent. Last year’s final was 7J per cent.
