Yachting FEDERATION’S CONSTITUTION

Talks Next Month In Wellington Representatives of yachting associations from Auckland Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin will meet in Wellington next month in an attempt to revise the New Zealand Yachting Federation's constitution. The meeting will be held on May 12, the day before the federation's annual meeting, but agreement has already been reached that proposals for revision, which last year threatened to wreck the federation, will not be discussed at the annual meeting. Instead, a special meeting will be, held some time after the annual neeting. and it is hoped that a final decision will then be made. Auckland, which has been seeking wider representation for northern yachtsmen—in terms that would give it almost a voting monopoly—is now seeking to widen representation at the preliminary meeting. Tne Canterbury Yachting Association, which has always opposed any move that might allow Auckland to exercise proxi a. will this evening consider a letter on this subject from Auckland.
