Kaiapoi Fruiterer Bidden Farewell
Mr A. S. Penny, more commonly known in Christchurch produce markets as "Aspro,” made his last appearance on the auction floor of Radley Brothers, Ltd., on Thursday morning. Well known in the fruit and grocery business for more than 16 years. Mr Penny has decided to sell his business in Kaiapoi and take up other employment. The esteem in which Mr Penny is held by employees of the produce markets and friends associated with the business was marked by the presentation of a wrist watch during a brief lull in the auctioneer’s patter-
For 13 years Mr Penny carried ">n a regular house-to-house delivery of fruit and vegetables to customers between Papanui and Kaiapoi before going into a shop at Kaiapoi.
