America's Cup NEW BRITISH CHALLENGER
Yacht Being Built (X Z J*.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. April 11 Another wealthy Briton is preparing to build a yacht to challenge for the America’s Cup. according to the “Evening Standard." He is a company director. Mr A. Royden. and his plans were revealed only when Lord Craigmyle resigned yesterday from the Red Duster Syndicate. which has a boat planned. Mr Royden’s yacht is being built in Scotland for between £BO.OOO and £lOO.OOO. Commenting today on Lord Craigmyle’s withdrawal, he said that he believed Lord Craigmyle had been “mishandled”. “He spent too much money on basic research which did not affect his plans.” said Mr Boyden. However even without. Lord Craigmyle. the Red Duster Syndicate is not quite finished, according to the "Daily Express.” It must raise £lOO.OOO within three weeks if it is to continue its challenge - and the designer Mr A. Robb, believes the money will be available.
