Timaru Man At Oamaru
(N.Z Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 12. Tlie Oamaru Harbour Board has appointed Captain J. Callan, a former harbourmaster of Timaru, as acting Harbourmaster for Oamaru until another appointment is made. The temporary appointment comes after advice given to the last meeting of the board that Captain L. V. Rowe, had been unable to pass his eyesight test and therefore became inelegible to take up his permanent appointment as harbourmaster.
Captain Rowe was engaged to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Captain J. E. Hancox after a dispute with the board.
