PLASTER FIRMS MERGE
Wardrops And Lavisca
Two Chris'church fibrous plaster manufacturing companies, Wardrop's Fibrous Plaster and Lavisca. Ltd., have amalgamated into an organisation called LaviscaWardrop, Ltd. Lavisca has a factory at Shortland street, Aranui, while Wardrops have a face tory in Moorhouse avenue. There are 39 employees at the Aranui plant and 23 at Moorhouse avenue. Both of the old firms were private companies and the new company will also be private.
The managing director of the new company (Mr J. V. Scales) said it would benefit from the experience of the Australian licensees of the Lavisca patent fibrous plaster boards. ‘‘Within six months of signing rights to manufacture this patent in Australia, one company is producing sufficient Lavisca board to line 25 houses a week.
“Sales are outstripping supply of the board and within another six months the Australians plan to be producing three times the present output,” he said. Sales of Lavisca board will, at present, be handled from the Moorhouse avenue plant.
