1906 Cadillac Restored

A 1906 Cadillac which for more than 30 years lay derelict m an Alexandra back yard, has been restored by Mr J. D. McCraw, of Alexandra, and is now driven about the district.

Some of the parts of the car were found in a large pond, and others were scattered around the countryside in numerous unlikely places. The restoration took Mr McCraw thousands of his leisure hours, but he is still not tired of restoring vintage cars. He has some parts of a 1903 Cadillac at his home, and plans to start on it some day.

The 1906 Cadillac has only one cylinder, but with a bore of five inches. The car had been lying unused and exposed to the weather for more than 38 years, and had been largely dismantled for 10 years
