£l600 Piano For High School

A new Steinway grand p.ano has been delivered to the Christchurch Boys' High School. It cost £l6OO most of which has been raised from pupils, old boys, friends of the whool. and concerts. The new will officially be put into use next Tuesday at a school concert specially prepared to demonstrate the performance of the piano. It will be played by present pupils and old boys who are notable pianists and used to accompany ensembles and choral numbers

The quality of the piano is such thas ally visiting concert pianist could be invited to use it—but it was unlikely that the instrument would be allowed out of the assembly hail, a master said.
