Heathcote Yard Accident

A 55-ton electric locomotive left the line in the Heathcote station yard at 7.10 a.m. yesterday, dragging the front bogey of the leading carriage with it. None of the 50 passengers in the train was injured The passengers were taken the rest of the journey by bus The engine was lifted back on to the line with hydraulic jacks, and normal services were soon resumed. There was no delay to goods services supplying the port. "An inquiry will be made, and a report made,” said the District Traffic Manager of Railways (Mr E. C. Brittenden).
