UNIVERSITY SIDE IN CANADA
Reported Damage To Home (From Our Own Reporter) NELSON. March 30. Clippings received by air mall today from Vancouver's leading newspapers, the "Sun" and the "Province,” report that the visiting New Zealand Universities* Rugby team wrecked the home of a millionaire, Mr F. Ronald Graham, during a party. One report says that Mrs Graham, who lent her home to entertain the team after the game with University of British Columbia, said her home and furnishings were damaged to the extent of several hundred dollars. She said she Intended to lodge a complaint with the New Zealand Trade Commissioner (Mr George Lawrence). "Mrs Graham said she had never seen such a mess. Sixty glasses were broken, and glasses and beer bottles were tossed into her pool. An iron railing was ripped from the pool-side. The legs of her tea waggon, a wedding present, were smashed. “The British Columbia Rugby Union has tendered apologies to the Grahams and offered to pay for the damages.” The report adds that the manager of the New Zealand Universities’ team said there was no bad conduct on the part of the players.
