FRAMED FREIGHTERS.—Two of the Armstrong Whitworth Argosy C.M.K.1 transport aircraft, being introduced into the Royal Air Force, are framed in the “clamshell” rear door of another Argosy during a flight from an Oxfordshire station. Fifty-six Argosy aircraft are on order as part of the build-np of the R.A.F. Transport Command. The “clamshell” rear doors facilitate the rapid loading and unloading of bulky military equipment. The Argosy can carry 29,0001 b in its 3680 cubic feet hold or 69 fully-equipped men.
