Yellow Eel Caught

( N.Z. Press Association) LEVIN, Mar. 27, A bright yellow iridescent eel has been caught in an eel trap in the Hokio stream, about three miles from The eel weighs about 61b. and is Aft long. Mr B. Hughes, who eaught it, said this morning that he could not recall a similar eel in the Levin district.

He had spoken to other members of the Maori race and they had not heard of such a phenomenon before.

He intends to liberate it shortly before the annual eel run stops, so that it can breed.
