CHAMPION OF YOUTH

(New Zealand Press Association)

AUCKLAND. March 27. “The Champion of Youth” was the title bestowed on the Governor-General (Lord Cobham) when he visited Sacred Heart Convent, Auckland, today. “And it is one of the nicest things that could have happened to a GovernorGeneral,” was Lord Cobham’s reply. Margaret Barr, a prefect, named Lord Cobham “our champion” during a speech ■>f welcome. She said the youth of New Zealand had become more conscious of the GovernorGeneral because of the countless times he had spoken of his belief in youth. The dignity of his office had added wisdom to his words. Lord Cobham told the children that in his four and a half years in office, he enjoyed most of all meeting the children, as they were very important people.
