Inaugural Service Planned For City The inaugural service in Christchurch of the forthcoming world-wide Christian Family Year, arranged by the Mothers’ Union from its London headquarters, will be held in Christchurch Cathedral on May 16. This was decided at a recent meeting of the Mothers’ Union of the Diocese of Christchurch, when Mrs S. E. Woods presided. Mrs D. E. Dalzell was appointed treasurer of the Christian Family Year committee. Mrs W. E. Pierre was appointed diocesan secretary, replacing Mrs M. Peaston. who has resigned. Mrs G. Adamson was appointed registrar for council meetings. Donations were approved to the overseas fund (London) and the Melanesian Mission.
