£23 For Bess
( N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, Mar 21 The good price of £23 was paid for the mare Bess which an Aucklander, Mr K. Esdale, rode and led from Auckland to Hastings recently for a wager. The horse was sold at Stortford Lodge sale today to Mr R. Bramwell, of Maraekakaho. The mare may be in foal.
