Driver Would Not Give Way (N.Z. Press Asseeistion) PALM. NORTH. Match 21. The driver of a car who prevented 100 vehicles from crossing the Ashhurst oneway bridge for more than 15 minutes on January 18 was told by Mr D. G. Sinclair, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court ait Palmerston North today that st was "one of the worst cases of inconsiderate driving and one of the worst cases of bad manners on the part of a driver” he had ever heard of.

In fining Leonard William Walker, an Ashhurst bush contractor, Mr Sinclair said that it was only consideration for W’alker's family that prevented him from cancelling his licence for six months Leonard William Andrew Jeffs, of Palmerston North, said that two cars ahead of him stopped on the bridge, and the leading driver waved him back, to give the right to oncoming traffic. But Walker, behind him. would not let him reverse He was not quite on the bridge. When witnesses moved forward in an effort to work his car out.
