Caduceus Second At Santa Anita

The New Zealand pacei. Caduceus, in a late bid, came in second yesterday to the favourite, Irvin Paul, in the Elks Pace at Santa Anita Park. A record crowd of 22,200 people saw Caduceus come from last at the top of the straight to fill second place. Vineddy finished third ’n the five-horse field, followed by Stormy Dream and Right Time.
Irvin Paul, a 2/1 favourite, won the 7500 dollar race in 2min 2 3-ssec and paid six dollars, 3.40 and 2.80. Caduceus returned 3.40 and 2.40 and Vineddy three dollars.
