Erosion
Sir, —How often have we been told of the effect of New Zealand’s erosion upon strangers to our small land? In vast countries it would be less likely to be decisive, but it appears to be taken far more seriously and attended to for safety. Experts from abroad are “amazed” at the inroads of destruction here. We just take it for granted, apparently, while it is allowed to continue. Mr Broach’s advice about running two or three sheep to the acre rather than afforestation if interesting.—Yours, etc.. SALVAGE. March 19, 1962.
