In the Senate, the Socialists left the hall before the vote, leaving a toal of 190 Senators present to vote.

Mr Fanfani’s votes came from his own Christian Democrat Party and the Democratic Socialist Party. Voting against him were the Communists and the Rightist Liberal, Monarchist and Italian Social Movement (Fascist) Parties.

Leg Injuries.— Mr Benjamin Bradshaw, of 43 Doreen street, Aranui, suffered leg injuries when his powercycle and a car collided at the corner of Swanns and Stanmore roads about 6.10 p.m. on Saturday. He was treated at Christchurch Hospital.
