SUBSIDY FOR COACHES

Approval For Next Season

The New Zealand Cricket Council will again next season pay a subsidy to major associations who engage M.C.C. coaches, and for such other coaching schemes as the Board of Control may approve.

Yesterday's meeting of the board considered replies from associations in answer to a circular seeking preferences for the type of coaching to be subsidised by the national body.

The secretary (Mr R. G. Knowles) told the meeting that four associations had favoured each association engaging its own coach, and two (Otago and Central Districts) were willing to share the cost of engaging a coach No associations favoured the council’s engaging one coach tor the whole of the Dominion.
