BIG-GAME FISHING
Tauranga Team Still Leads

AUCKLAND, March 13.
The launch Blue Skies was sailed more than 20 miles out from the coast for the Whangaroa team to land the only striped marlin on the second day of the 1962 international big-game fishing contest today.
The fishing was poor offshore so the team captain, R. Kirvhler, decided to go looking for “blue water." His team-mate, H. D. Cameron, struck and landed a 2921 b fish.
The biggest fish of the day was taken at Mercury Bay by P. Veale. in the launch. Lady Clare. It was a 3241 b hammerhead shark. His team, captained by E. H. Oliver, benefited by 100 points for the catch.
New Zealanders at present fill the first seven places in the contest. C. W. McNaul (Tauranga) is in the lead with 490.
