Attempted Murder Charge

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Mar. 8.

A young man was further remanded in custody to April 2 when he appeared before Mr L N. Ritchie, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Turei Moana, aged 25, a shearer, of Tolaga Bay, was charged with the attempted murder of his wife. Mere Kate Moana. on December 31, 1961, at Tolaga Bay.

The Crown Prosecutor (Mr J. G. Nolan) appeared for the police and Moana was represented by Mr M. D. Chrisp.

Support For Grade Separation.—The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce council last night resolved to give all support to the Christchurch City Council’s effort to get grade separation (an underpass or flyover) in Moorhouse avenue at the Colombo street overbridge.
