Paparua Councirs

Position

The National Roads Board had reviewed the position regarding subsidies on the Paparua County Council's subsidised works programr for the coming financial year. Mr J. H. Weaver, the county chairman, told tire council meeting on Thursday. He said that, largely as a result of representations made by the counties’ representative on the board, the board had indicated that the council's basic subsidy requirements would probably largely be met.

No Reserved Parking.— After hearing a traffic officer's report, which said that reserved parking spaces in front of Lyttelton hotels Would be unwarranted, the Lyttelton Borough Council decided not to make spaces available.
