Cricket Shield Result A Warning

The New Zealand cricketers, who have no illusions about the task ahead of them when they meet the near-test-strength New South Wales side, had the facts underlined for them when the Sheffield Shield series ended yesterday. South Australia, which beat the New Zealanders by six wickets yesterday, scored less than half the shield points won by New South Wales.
The final points were: New South Wales 64, Queensland 36, South Australia 30, Victoria 24, and Western Australia 22. The New Zealand team to meet N.S.W. has not yet been announced.
