Medical Benefits

Sir. —Congratulations to Dr. W. P. P. Gordon, president of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association, in his outspoken comment that New Zealand is lagging behind in the medical benefit to the aged, infirm, and pensioners. Unfortunately, they have no organisation to promote their claims, and this is not the only matter in which the New Zealand Government is lagging. The wonderful welfare progress initiated by the Labour Government has gone to the pack after setting an example to the world. To Dr. Gordon, may I say thanks, on behalf of the workers. It is obvious the time for resurrection is overdue for them and the business community.—Yours, etc., HERBERT E. BARNSLEY. February 26, 1962.
