‘Natural Gas Could Make Improvement’ (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 5. A good supply of cheap natural gas could make a considerable difference to air pollution in New Zealand, said Mr W. A. Dainon. a British air pollution authority, Last night. “Not that your pollution is as bad now as in some countries overseas," he said. “But the industrial and domestic use of smokeless fuels like natural gas can bring about a big improvement.” Mr Damon, who for 30 years was chief alkali inspector to the British Government. last visited New Zealand six years ago. at the invitation of the Government. He is now visiting New Zealand after attending the New South Wales Clean Air Conference in Sydney. He will spend a few days in Auckland and then go to Wellington for talks with Health Department officers.
