MUSHROOMS BY THE TON

Headaches For Railway Staff ( N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI. Feb. 20. Three and a half tons of mushrooms were railed to metronolitan markets from the Marton Junction station on Sunday night. This beat the previous record by almost a ton and a half. Over the last eight days 14 tons of mushrooms have been sent from Marton. This means additional revenue for the Railways Department (and headaches, too. with 763 boxes on the platform on the peak night) and more pocket money for the many cashing in on the best season in Lower Rangitikei for many years.
