Cycling DALTON FACES SUSPENSION
Two-Year Bond Signed ( N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Feb. 20. The New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association decided tonight to ask the Amateur Cycling Association to ensure that the terms of W. D. H. Dalton's bond with the former organisation are honoured.
Dalton turned professional in Australia recently despite a two-year bond, signed before the 1960 Rome Olympics, to remain an amateur. Tonight’s decision could mean that Dalton may be suspended until July when the two-year period ends.
The chairman of the Olympic body. Mr H. I. Austad. said Dalton was “playing around" with his association “If we released him we would have to release everyone else.” he added.
