Mauretania Rene Patricia Crompton, aged 22, a married woman, was sentenced by Mr Justice Huichison to three months’ imprisonment on each of two charges in the Supreme Court today. The terms are to be cumulative.

She had been found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm to her baby daughter, and of wilfully ill-treating her other daughter. Crompton was placed on probation for 12: months after completing her prison sentence and ordered to take psychiatric treatment.
