FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—-A rather cold south-easterly airstream prevails over New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh south-west winds predominating; cloudy and cool with showers at times near the .coast, but mainly partly cloudy inland. Marlborough Sounds and Kaikoura Coast.— Fresh southerly winds; cloudy and cool with light showers at times. Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate variable winds; cloudy with a few isolated light showers chiefly about the ranges; temperatures moderate. Buller and Westland.—Light variable winds, fine with cool night, but mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook, all districts: little change.
