Premier Awards At Timaru (N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. Feb 14. Although blooms showed a certain amount of damage as (he result of recent heavy rain, exhibits were of a uniformly high standard at the South Island national dahlia show held In conjunction with the Timaru Horticultural Society's autumn show tn Timaru today The blue ribbon for the best bloom In the South Island show was awarded to Mr W A Pollard (Christchurch! with his entry. "Princess Royal ” Premier awards were:— Blue ribbon for beat bloom m show: W A Pollard (Christchurch). "Princess Royal." Giant dahlias: S L Holmes (Christchurch) "Kidd's Climax." Large semi-cactus: S. L. Holmes's "Roae Champion.” Exhibition cactus: S. L. Holmes's “El Proops." Medium - decorative class: S. L. Holmes's "Crystal " Miniature decorative: Mrs J Ct Fraser (Christchurch). "Tantallom " Miniature cactus: W. A Pollard (Christchurch). "Chasmay Pompone: S. L. Holmes s "Diana Gregory.”
