TROTTING ROBERT MEDORO IN FAVOUR

\l Main Trotters’ Race At New Brighton

' Robert Medoro, a splendid third over 13 furlongs in the race won by With You at Addington last week, should gain his fourth win for the season in the Autumn Handicap, the main race for trotters at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow.

There was considerable merit in Robert Medoro’s effort last week as he broke at the end of about two furlongs and from then until the straight entrance he was so far back that his chances looked remote. He was forced to change course in the straight and finished with a great run little more than two lengths from the winner.

Robert Medoro is usually a reliable beg.nner and from the front mark in this race his ?hances are highly rated If allowed to make his own rules in front, he will be hard to head

‘ Spinster Scott has trotted • some sound races in recent ' months At her last start she ■ beat all but Dianthus Girl

' over 13 furlongs at Forbury . Park on February 3. She, ■ too, is usually a safe begin- • ner and she should make up • her handicap of 24 yards • without too much effort. When and With You will form a strong bracket, al-

though they are among the . back markers on 36 yards. They will have a run * of more than two fur- - Jongs before reaching .’ the first bend and they

■ should have made up most of their handicap before jiben. Both are proven sprinters and they look to be two of the brighter pros-

pects. Welburn trotted one of his better races at Addington last Saturday when he finished half a neck behind With .You. He is trotting much •more solidly than he has in

the past and his chances in this field cannot be overlooked. Fourina, a stylish winner in the intermediate class last week, is an interesting newcomer to this class. She is

not always a quick beginner, but one of her best efforts would give her a chance. Ahumai and Winterlight

appeal most of the others on the limit Merry Nora, on 24 yards, finished fourth at Addington last Saturday and she could be a better mare tomorrow. Resistor will start from the same mark and if. as seems

possible, the track is easy, her chances will be enhanced. Beau Clair, Coronet Lass, and Reprimand are others assured of solid support after

some bold efforts in recent months. The double will be run on the New Brighton Cup and the Burwood Handicap.

The track has been affected slightly by recent rain, but even with limited drying before tomorrow it will not be worse than easy. The forecast is for an improvement in the weather
