Hokitika Monument
i Sir, —I have been requested to obtain the history of the .Pioneers Monument in Hoki'tika, and also of the quotation , which appears thereon. I have been able to obtain the full story leading up to the ■ erection of the monument, but have failed to find either i the author or origin of the quotation. The quotation is jas follows: “Where the vanguard camps itoday
