SOBERS TO RETURN
Australian Invitation (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) ADELAIDE, Feb. 13 The West Indian cricketer. G. E Sobers, will return to Australia in September and play the full Sheffield Shield season for South Australia This was announced today by the South Australian Cricket Association secretary (Mr H. V. Millard) and an official of the company which has been ei- ploying Sobers Sobers will leave Adelaide for Trinidad tomorrow for the first test between the West Indies and the touring Indian team. He will play in the Lancashire League later in the year before returning to Australia for the opening of the new Australian season. Sobers climaxed a fine season for South Australia yesterday by scoring a brilliant 251 in the Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales. His batting put South Australia in a position to inflict the first defeat on New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield season. New South Wales, led by the test captain, R. Benaud. has already clinched' the shield.
