APPEAL ON STUDIO

Hearing Today

The appeal to the New Zealand Racing Conference by Mr M. M. Hibbard, the owner of Studio, against the decision of the Canterbury district committee confirming the relegation of Studio to third in the Metropolitan Handicap at Riccarton in November, will be heard in Wellington today. Studio was first past the post in the Metsonolitan Handicap on November 11, but was relegated to third behind Compensate and Desert Chief at an inquiry after the race by the Canterbury Jockey Club’s judicial committee.

The Canterbury district committee dismissed an appeal against this decision on November 21.

Mr Hibbard later lodged an appeal against the district committee’s decision. It will be heard today by appeal judges appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference.
