TALKS IN DJAKARTA

Kennedy's Visit (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) DJAKARTA, Feb. 13. The United States Attorney - General, Mr Robert Kennedy, talked over Indonesia’s claim to Dutch-held West New Guinea with the Indonesian Foreign Minister, Dr. Subandrio, today. "Mr Kennedy was interested in getting Indonesia’s point of view.’’ Dr. Subandrio told reporters later, according to the Associated Press. After the conference with Dr. Subandrio, Mr Kennedy kept a luncheon date with the President, Dr. Soekarno, at the President’s Merdeka Palace. It was assumed that they also would discuss the Dutch-Indonesian dispute. Mr Kennedy also called on the military commander. General Abdul Haris Nasution. who is also the national security chief.

Dr. Subandrio said Mr Kennedy did not offer a solution to the West New Guinea dispute during their 45minute talk, but he noted that the Attorney-General would also visit the Netherlands on his current world trio.

Before his meeting with Dr. Subandrio. Mr Kennedy followed Moslem custom and took off his shoes to visit the huge Kebajoran mosque He made this unscheduled stop after laying a wreath at Djakarta's cemetery for military heroes.
