FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone in the Tasman Sea is advancing towards the South Island and a cool south-east airstream prevails over New Zealand. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate south to south-east winds; cloudy and cool with a few showers at first, but becoming partly cloudy during the day. Marlborough Sounds and Kaikoura Coast.—Fresh south to south-east winds, strong at times in exposed places about Cook Strait; cloudy and cool with a few light showers in the morning, but becoming partly cloudy later. Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate variable winds, easterlies predominating; partly cloudy; temperatures cool. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds: partly cloudy with mild day temperatures. Outlook.—All districts: partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
