OPENING BOWLERS IN FINE FORM
McGregor Takes Seven For 41 ( N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Feb. 10. Three fine performances by opening bowlers. J. P. Flaherty (Dunedin), E. J. Stephenson (Grange), and G. C. McGregor i Kaikorai) were highlights of the first day's play when the second series of matches in the second round of the Otago Cricket Association's senior competition began on Saturday McGregor had the best analysis of seven for 41 off 33 overs, while Stephenson took seven for 50, and Flaherty six for 79. Six batsmen reached the forties. bu* only one. J. Bell (University), completed a halfcentury. Most spectacular knock was a swashbuckling 46 in 29 minutes by J. Warner (Grange) against Albion. Dunedin 121 (G. C. McGregor seven for 41) and 29 for two. Kaikorai 154 (J. P. Flaherty six for 79). North-east Valley 68 and 63 for two v. University 182 for nine declared (J. Bell 50). Albion 169 (E. J. Stephenson seven for 50) v. Grange 187 for five. Carisbrook 174 v. Old Boys 104 for three.
