£2500 PAID FOR CITY SECTION
Two Properties Passed In
A buyer paid £2500 for a section of 40 perches at a public auction yesterday. 1316 section is one of two situated in Straven road. Fendalton, offered for sale on account of Mrs F. A. P. Kingscote.
The section includes a garden with large trees and shrubs, and a lawn which slopes down to a stream. Bidding opened at £2OOO and rose in £lOO bids.
The second section, of 24 perches, was passed in at £1950. Bidding began at £l5OO and was increased by four £lOO bids and one £5O bid.
At a second sale, a 14-acre HalsweM farm property which offered possibilities for subdivision was passed in at £ll.OOO.
Offered on account of the estate of the late Mr C. W Boon, the property is situated at the corner of Junction road and Sabeys road, and includes a bungalow. The road frontages are classed as residential and could be subdivided into 28 sections. bidding began at £7OOO. was increased by one bid of £lOOO. and then by six bids of £5OO.
