MOTOR-CYCLE SCRAMBLE
Events At Halswell
The Australian grass track champion, T. Gibbes. recorded fastest time of the day when he won the Canterbury 500 c.c. scramble championship at Halswell in a convincing manner on Sunday. The scramble was conducted by the Tai Tapu Motor-cycle Club. Two local riders. D. Burnt and L. Reynolds, both gave fine displays of riding when they won the 350 c.c. and 250 c.c. classes respectively. Results were:

350 c.c. Canterbury championshir (13 laps): D. Bums (Christchurch). 1: D. Isbister (Nelson), 2; S Harrison (Christchurch). 3. Time. 18min 272 sec.
500 c.c. Canterbury' championship (15 lans): T. Globes (Australia). 1; K. Cleghorn (Palmerston North). 2: W. Veitch (Dunedin) 3. Time. 17min 32.45ec.
250 c.c. scratch race (5 laps): D. Burns 1, L. Reynolds 2. R. Johnston 3. Time. 6mln 32Asec. 350 c.c. scratch race.—D. Isbister 1, G. Johnston 2. S. Harrison 3. Time. 6min 20sec.
