“NEW WORKS” BY SHAW

Medium Claims Contact

Most mediums give such exotic names as Sitting Bull and Flower of the Forest to the with whom they commune, but Patricia Joudry, a Canadian medium now living in Englanad. claims to be able to summon the spirits of such literary giants as George Bernard Shaw. Anton Chekov, Walt Whitman. Shakespeare, and Eugene O'Neill. They not only speak to her, she claims, but they also dictate new literary works which they had no time to write before they died. The medium, who calls herself Saint Patricia, records these bv “automatic writing,” presumably while in a trance. These new works are accumulating rapidly, and the first released manuscript has just arrived at ‘The Press” for review. A review will apoear in due course. The 232-page book is called “Saint Patricia,” and purports to be a biographical drama in four acts, written by George Bernard Shaw and transmitted to the medium in tiie space of two weeks last year. World copyright for it is reserved by Patricia Joudry, Limited, of Toronto. “Leading newspapers throughout the world are being sent the enclosed dramatised biography, of which every fact is true and can be verified,” says the covering letter. The letter also makes the startling claim that the medium “has been named Saint Patricia by Jesus Christ, who, on July 1, 1961, made His long awaited return to earth, and Who now resides at the address above, a fact which is yet to be publicly announced." The “address above” is Shorn-hill. Withington, Gloucestershire, England. As well as the biographical drama now published, the medium claims to have received from the "spirits” of dead authors five other plays bv Shaw (two for television), nlavs by Robert Sherwood. Chekov, Whitman, O’Neill and Sidney Howard, sonnets by Shakespeare, and “first chapters of a new Bible by Jesus Christ.”
