A. V. Bedser, the former Surrey and England bowler, has been nominated by his county for election to England’s test selection committee, the "Daily Mail’s” cricket writer. Crawford White, reported The selection committee would be chosen at a Cricket Board oa Control meetinns In March. Mr R 'V. V. Robms, the man urgently needed to succeed Mr G. O Aden, also was persuaded over the week-end to stand as a candidate tor the chairmanship, the newspaper said “The dash of Robins and the experience of Bedser could be invaluable to a committee that faces one at cricket’s most important tasks,” the “Daily Mail” said.
“If the Board of Control elect me, I would like to put back something into the game which was so good to me," Bedser commented. "I think experience in the middle helps Eve been on eight trips to Australia since the war (three as a player and five on business), and I think I know a few things about conditions out there that might be useful."
