FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation,—Anti-cyclones are centred over the Tasman Sea and to the south-west of New Zealand, and a disturbed south-westerly airstream covers the South Island. Forecast:— Canterbury.—South-west winds predominating and becoming fresh at times about the coast; variable skies, with a few showers, mainly about the coast, moderate temperatures. Outlook: becoming fine. Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate variable winds in central Marlborough, moderate winds from the southerly quarter elsewhere; weather partly cloudy, apart from some isolated showers in the east of Marlborough; temperatures mild. Outlook: fine. West Coast.—Moderate south-westerlies; partly cloudy, apart from some isolated light showers; warm temperatures. Outlook: fine. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
